Welcome Lily Grace!

We're so happy and blessed to have welcomed Lily Grace into the world!  We are so in love and excited to document Lily's story, for us to look back on and to share with family and friends.  This is the story of our little "Lilybug"!

Lily was due May 16 but surprised us by coming 7 weeks early, March 31.  We showed up at the hospital to get checked out and for what we thought was a dry run, only to be told "you won't be leaving the hospital without a baby!"  Hogan had time to go home to pack a bag and call family to come to the hospital, but not long after that Lily was here!  She arrived at 6:07pm, weighing 3 lbs 15 oz and measuring 17 inches.  Good things do come in small packages (and I guess that's what we get for naming her Lil).

We knew that coming so early meant she would be staying in the intensive care nursery for a while, but Lily wanted to get home and progressed really quickly.  She was in the NICU for 2 1/2 weeks, until she was 36 weeks gestational age.  While it was hard to have her there, and we were so ready to get her home, everyone there could not have been nicer and more supportive.

The nurses surprised us on a Monday with the news that Lily would be going home that Wednesday if all went well.  We couldn't believe she would be coming home so soon.  4/18 - The best day ever... brought Lily home with us!
