What a month... life took a weird turn mid-month when COVID-19 shut down school and we were asked to stay home from pretty much everything. Luckily, just before things shut down, Lily got to attend the reception for her artwork that's displayed at Spirit Square. We've been getting in the groove of homeschool. Big thank you to Grandma for coming to help out with the boys/teaching every day during the week because I couldn't do it without her!
Happy 8th birthday to Lily!!! Her birthday celebration was definitely different because of all this, but she still followed the string, had ice cream for breakfast, homemade Oreo cake, a piƱata, and fun gifts. Despite the circumstances I think it was a great one for her! (8??!!! Sorry, still in shock.)
And happy 3 months to Crew! As of 3 months, something magical happened and he started sleeping SO much longer at night... like 10 hour stretches some nights. C is a happy, chill baby. He gives big, whole face smiles when you smile at him, he loves to "talk", and (although I haven't seen it again) he rolled over belly to back once the other day.
Here's to keeping things in perspective, being thankful for our health, and enjoying extra time with the girls while they're home from school.
| Park church. This was not because we couldn't go to church at this point -- it's because I wanted some sort of church time but we weren't going to make it to the real thing. We went to Freedom Park and had hot chocolate while I read them a couple bible stories. Then we played tag and had a dance party. :) |
| 2 month checkup. |
| C, proud of moving up to a new reading level! |
| And this girl is excited because she was chosen to be a news anchor on the Dilworth news! Such a big deal. I'm sad she missed most of her news-casting month, but better than nothing -- very happy she got a chance for a little while before school was cancelled. |
| Double trouble. I mean double playdate. |
| Happy Birthday, Mrs. Davis! |
| This is Lily's lion, which Mrs. Watkins chose for the Char Meck K-8 art exhibit uptown. Lily was so excited to have been chosen! |
| A certificate for earning the most dragon dollars in her grade for her dragon house! |
| Mystery music guest for C! |
Fishy finally died. The longest living goldfish on the planet. We had a little ceremony and all spoke some words. ;) |
| Just happened to go have lunch with the girls the day before they asked parents not to come in for lunch anymore. |
| Homeschool setup. |
| Day 1 of "homeschool"... the easy homeschool, before their assignments started. ;) |
| Happy St. Patrick's Day. Sorry Crew. |
| Look at B, trying to copy the yoga! One of the stories was about a dodo bird and they say "dodo dockson." Now, whenever he sees the icon for the yoga show pop up on Amazon, he says "dodo dockson!" |
| Walls!!! |
| Lookin' old... and becoming a pro on the two-wheel bike. |
| Again, sorry buddy. Welcome to a lifetime of having big sisters. You did ask for the bibs, though. |
| Smiley baby! |
| Really fell asleep. ;) |
| Making it almost a daily thing to bike/scooter down and check on progress at the new house! |
| Unicorn magic. |
| Baby Einstein buddies. So sweet to me that the girls still enjoy watching it with B (takes them back to their babyhood). |
| Go, Crew! |
| First Zoom meeting with Mrs. Davis. |
| Doing the site word hop. |
| Lunch doodles with Mo Willems. The girls sketched the pigeon. |
| I will treasure this forever!!! |
| C reading Goodnight moon to B. Love. |
| Love our updated family portrait by my friend, Meghan! |
| Charley trying the bike with no training wheels! |
| Thank you cards for doctors and healthcare workers. |
| Art by Lil & C. |
| Elmo! New fave. |
| Charley wins for best "happy happy dance dance." :) |
| Happy 3, sweet Crew! |
| Lily's house. |
| Happy 8, Lily!!! xoxo. Gifts included an American Girl horse, a new art set, a Harry Potter spell book, and some pierced earrings (because as soon as things open back up, we're getting ears pierced!). |
| Loved her sweet video messages from friends. |
| The microscope was a big hit! |
| The horseback riding party had to wait, but we still had a cowgirl boot piƱata! |
| 8 will be great. |
| Thank you, sweet Annie, for coming all the way to drop off a gift. Fun to see you out the window! |
| A Little Princess and popcorn... the perfect end to the day. |
