Welcome, Charley!

Welcome to the world sweet Charley!

Charlotte "Charley" McClain was born Saturday, April 26, 2014 at 11:25am.  

5 lbs 7 oz. 18 3/4" long

Everything in my ultrasounds indicated Charley was healthy but measuring small, so I was scheduled to be induced on Monday, April 28.  Charley came on her own two days earlier, though, a day shy of 38 weeks.  We made it to the hospital in the nick of time -- just under an hour before Charley was born -- and while I had hoped to have an epidural, my water broke when I got in the hospital room before I could get it, so I did it the natural way (I survived). ;)

Lil and all the grandparents came to meet Charley Saturday afternoon, and I could not have been happier to have my two girls together with me!  Lil did amazing with Charley from the beginning… talking in her high-pitched baby voice :) and saying sweet things like "Hi Baby Charley!  I love you baby Charley!" (It's always "baby Charley"!)  

We spent two nights in the hospital and came home Monday evening.  We gave Lily the bitty baby carseat carrier as a gift at the hospital so she could carry Baby Olivia out with Charley.  So cute!  And we couldn't have been happier to be home with the girls!!  Aside from a lack of sleep, which is par for the course, everything is going well.  Loving our family of 4!
