May 2023

May is a busy month for school kiddos... everything is wrapping up!  Briggs had beginners day at Dilworth (hard to believe!).  Dance and aerial finished up and Charley did awesome at her showcase.  We took a fun trip to the mountains with Grandma & Grandpa (technically Dad's birthday trip).  And the boys finished preschool!  I am so thankful for their wonderful year at school.  I couldn't have asked for a better one.  Even though the girls have a little more school, the end-of-the-year is definitely in the air.  They're preparing for EOG testing, and then get to enjoy a fun last week!

Charley illustrations.

Beginners Day!

C's aerial showcase.  She and her friends came up with their own choreography.  So fun!

First lemonade stand at this house!

Trying out the new section of the greenway.

We made it all the way to the big rocks near Park Rd. Park.  Love that we can essentially take the Greenway from Grandpa's to Grandma's now. :)

Turtle spotting.

Lil and C's cafe.

Doctor Briggs & Astronaut Crew, ready for dinner. :)

Love it.  Like the old days. :)

Muffins with Mom.

"My Mom makes the best" cookbook.  Mine was waffles.  I put them in the toaster for 11 minutes. ;)

Excited for breakfast on the "Briggsy school" tray.

Haha.  Crew was here.

Love dance observation week (unlike Lil). 😂

School.  Sweet teacher...

Stern principal. ;)

Charley has played with the old Baby Abby since she was a baby, but since it was technically Lily's baby doll she's really wanted one just like it for her own.  She's still working on her name... for now it's Abby too, but we'll see.  Love seeing her Mommy side.

Mother's Day breakfast in bed. :)

Pic by Lil!

And this was a gift from Charley... the cardboard dollhouse the girls had started, completely furnished.

Mothers Day walk.

I went to visit Grandma and took these cakes Lily made - so cute.

Channeling their Ashley and Mary-Kate. ;)

From Crew. :)

Hehe.  This one truly makes me LOL.

Bumped into each other in the hallway!

Celebrating the Summer birthdays!

EOG encouragement letter.  Love that Dilworth has parents do this.

Primland.

Back in town just in time for B's end of year party!

End of year party for Crew!

This girl loves her some bunnies.

Oh man.  He's discovered cake pops.

Last day!  This has been SUCH a great year for him.  He will miss his 4's class and his wonderful teachers so much.

Preschool's out = TCBY!

Feeding the train and boat. :)

Mountains!

Mountain toast!

Lil trying coffee, haha.

The Cradle of Forestry.  One of my favorite parts of the trip.  We walked the trails and saw an old train, old buildings like their school house, and pretty grounds.

Ringing the bell on the engine.

Lil's caption: Who do you think the ballerina is?

Always gotta do some ballet in the woods!

Baby Charley.  Hehe.

I think they could have stayed in this spot and played pretend for hours.

Look familiar? :)

Gem mining.

Hula hooping at the white squirrel festival.

Bet Lily a Starbucks if she took a pic with the squirrel. ;)

To remember the treasure hunt Lil set up in the house, and then B wanted to immolate. :)

Sweet memories.  Loved the view, the house (kids loved the electronic game table), and just being in the mountains.

Just drinking some fries on the way home.

Ms. Hyde's advice for EOG's... Step 1- Write down your fears.

Step 2- tear them up...

And Step 3- let them go!

They're off. :)

Although preschool technically ended, they've started something called "Spring into Summer" where their 4's get to continue "school" for two more weeks.

Playdate with Ben.

Her cute piggy soap from the mountains (Charley got a llama).

Here's to a happy end of school & start to Summer!
