April 2023

April was a full month.  We went to SPT for Spring break.  It was the first time we ever traveled over Easter.  We celebrated my birthday and then Charley's birthday (happy 9, Charley!).  Charley had a one-on-one birthday party with her friend Parker at Carowinds and had her first sleepover.  And Mom, Dad, the girls and I took a long overdue trip to DC on the train (first for the girls... long but fun) to visit Gillian and Suzyn.  It was wonderful to see them.  Lots of memories made!

Disney Headbanz.  He's definitely a pro with the Frozen characters. ;)

Lil's 11th sleepover.

Starbucks theme!

Grandpa's "transporter bed," as B calls it.

Love seeing Crew with his own little friends.  Off to Gray's party.

Helping make play dough for his class.

Just found this on my computer. :)

Got the old baby sack out for Robin and of course the boys had to try it on.

A whole setup for Charley to sew up the hole on Gillian's old childhood teddy bear.  She sewed it and packed it to deliver in DC.

It was pretty rainy the day they had their little Spring festival set up, but the sweet train driver said he would give us a ride in the rain.  Despite Briggs' face in this pic, the boys loved it!  And Lil was a sweet big sister to go along with it.

Easter eggs.

Love when they all end up in the same bed for a story... doesn't happen much.

Happy Easter!

Lily made these sweet eggs, and Charley, Briggs & Crew each got to find one (see the sweet messages below).

Our waitress for Easter brunch.

Our line of sidewalk chalk Easter eggs.

The Ghost in Dobb's Diner... Crew's current favorite book.  Sweet.

Early AM at the train station.

Off to DC!

Cab ride!

You know Lily's a tween bc she was so excited to see a Sephora.  Haha! ;)

Smithsonian Museum of Natural History.

A Statue of Liberty made of legos at the American History Museum.

This was so fun.  You could choose clothes from different eras and then see it on yourself.

Dollhouse!

The girls loved the exhibit of all the First Ladies' dresses.

Washington Monument.

Neat statue park otw back to the hotel.

First time seeing G & S in several years and it was so great.

White House.

The Willard Hotel where Grandpa stayed as a kid.

Lincoln Memorial.

Return trip. :)

Last lesson with Susan (for now!).  We've LOVED music with her but it was just time.

Creative Movement with Ms. Miller.  I still can't believe all the kids have gotten to have her!

Charley's birthday party at Carowinds!

Special bday henna.

Pizza, cake, movie & sleepover!

A special pic with Amelia Sturt-Dilley... Wendy from Peter Pan.

Happy birthday to Mommy!

Charley's 3-D art at art night.

Lil's treehouse art.

Charley's birthday eve!

So sweet... Lil set up surprise bday decorations in C's room so she would see them when she woke up.

Happy 9, Charley Barley!!!

Lunch with B!

Fifth grade field trip to Carowinds.

Lil surprised me how much she rode.  She rode Copperhead Strike and whatever fun upside down one that is behind them!

He really wanted breakfast on this fancy tiered tray. ;)

Sleepover with her old friend Allie!
